Administrative Assistant

The Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission, the nationally regarded regional planning agency for the seven county greater Milwaukee area, and the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization for the five urban areas within Southeastern Wisconsin, has an immediate opening for an Administrative Assistant to perform a variety of administrative, clerical, and report design tasks.

About the Opportunity

This is a multi-function position that will report to the Director of Administration.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support the Leadership Team with scheduling, correspondence, workflow, and internal meetings
  • Support the work of the Principal Graphic Designer
  • Transcribe recorded meeting discussions into formal minutes
  • Assist with production of documents and preliminary drafts
  • Help the Administrative Division with front desk communication as needed
  • Carry out general administrative duties as assigned

Core Requirements

  • Administrative Support Specialist degree, Office Technology Assistant degree or equivalent associate’s degree preferred, related experience may be substituted for education
  • Knowledge of general office procedures such as mailing and/or e-mailing correspondence, setting electronic calendar meeting notices, photocopying, scanning, and using document management software for record retention
  • Professionalism, organizational skills, and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize the workload
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud desired

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $45,000 to $54,000 per year depending upon education, experience, and placement within the organizational structure. A salary exceeding this range may be considered for highly qualified applicants.
