The Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission, by authority of the Wisconsin State Statutes, serves as the County Surveyor for Milwaukee County.
As the County Surveyor, the Commission is responsible for receiving, indexing, and filing copies of Plats of Survey pertaining to Milwaukee County. The Commission maintains hardcopies of the recorded Plats of Survey for public record.
In 2009, the Commission assisted the Milwaukee County Automated Land Information System (MCAMLIS) staff to make available all of the Plats of Survey received to date via the MCAMLIS portion of the Milwaukee County website. The website offers the public the ability to locate and download a PDF file of a Plat of Survey at no charge.
