Multi-Jurisdictional Comprehensive Planning Programs in Southeastern Wisconsin SEWRPC has offered to work with each of the seven counties in the Region to produce county comprehensive plan documents. Six of the counties are conducting multi-jurisdictional planning programs that will produce a county comprehensive plan and companion local plans for participating cities, towns, and villages. Information on County comprehensive planning programs is provided below: Kenosha County (SEWRPC Contact - ) Kenosha County and nine cities, towns, and villages were awarded a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Administration in March 2006 to prepare a multi-jurisdictional comprehensive plan. SEWRPC will assist in developing the plan. The plan will be completed in Spring 2009. More information is available on the Kenosha County website. Not yet determined. Ozaukee County (SEWRPC Contact - ) Ozaukee County was awarded a State comprehensive planning grant in 2004. With the exception of the City of Cedarburg, all cities, towns, and villages in the County, plus the Village of Newburg, are participating in a multi-jurisdictional planning program to develop a comprehensive plan for the County and each of the participating local governments. SEWRPC will assist in preparing the plans. The multi-jurisdictional comprehensive plan was adopted by the Ozaukee County Board of Supervisors on April 2, 2008. Work on completion and adoption of local plans and publication of County and local plan reports will continue during 2008. Racine County (SEWRPC Contact - ) Racine County and all 18 cities, towns, and villages were awarded a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Administration in March 2006 to prepare a multi-jurisdictional comprehensive plan. SEWRPC will assist in developing the plan. The plan will be completed in Spring 2009. More information is available on the Racine County website. Walworth County (SEWRPC Contact - ) Walworth County and 13 towns are working together on a multi-jurisdictional comprehensive plan with assistance from SEWRPC. The plan will be completed in 2009. More information is available on the Walworth County planning page. Washington County (SEWRPC Contact - ) Washington County, 10 towns, and one village were awarded a comprehensive planning grant on March 4, 2005. SEWRPC and UW-Extension are also part of the planning process. The multi-jurisdictional comprehensive plan was adopted by the Washington County Board of Supervisors on April 15, 2008. Work on publication of the plan report and on completion and adoption of local plans and will continue during 2008. Waukesha County (SEWRPC Contact - ) The Waukesha County Comprehensive Development Plan Advisory Committee began meeting in February 2004. Twenty-seven of the 37 cities, towns, and villages in the County are participating in a multi-jurisdictional planning process. The process is being led by County staff with assistance from SEWRPC and Waukesha County UW-Extension staff. Waukesha County was awarded a comprehensive planning grant on March 4, 2005.
