Public Involvement

Throughout the review and update of the regional land use and transportation system plans, the Commission sought to facilitate the active participation and input of public elected and appointed officials, business and civic leaders, environmental and community groups, and concerned and interested citizens and parties.

The Commission’s approach to public involvement included:

• The sharing of information in the form of clear documentation of study findings and recommendations.
• Timely public notice of meetings and hearings.
• Opportunities for early and continuing involvement in the planning process.
• Broad public outreach.
• Responsive consideration of public input.
