Study Meetings

There will be numerous meetings throughout the preparation of the new Milwaukee County Transit System development plan. This portion of the website is dedicated to providing notification of those meetings, and agendas and other useful information when available. The meetings open to the public include not only public informational meetings and hearings to be held during the planning process, but also all meetings of the Advisory Committee appointed by Milwaukee County to guide the planning process. Public informational meetings and hearings will be held at two different times during the study at various locations in the County. The first set of public informational meetings were held in February and March 2007, to present the work completed to date on the transit development plan. The second set of meetings will be held near the end of the study to present information about, and receive comments on, the alternative transit service plans and preliminary recommendations. These meetings will serve to familiarize Milwaukee County residents, local officials, business representatives, and others with the planning process for the Milwaukee County Transit System development plan and to provide an opportunity to comment on the plan as it is developed. The public comments provided at the public informational meetings will help guide the development of alternatives and potential recommended operating and capital improvements for the transit system over the next five years.

A second set of public informational meetings is currently being scheduled and will occur in Fall 2008. The alternative transit service improvement plans under consideration by the study Advisory Committee will be presented to the public and comment on the proposed improvement will be sought. Information on the meeting dates and locations will be posted here in the next few weeks.
