Need for a New Transit System Development Plan
Study Report, Brochure, Newsletters, and Public Meeting Materials
Public Involvement
The Commission will seek to facilitate the active participation of public elected and appointed officials, business and civic leaders, environmental and community groups, and concerned and interested citizens and parties throughout the preparation of the new Milwaukee County Transit System development plan. The transit system plans - alternative, preliminary, and final recommended plans - will attempt to reflect the input received from elected officials and the general public.
The Commission's approach to public involvement will include, but is not limited to, the following:
Public Meetings
Public informational meetings will be held at two different times during the study. The first set of informational meetings were held in late February and early March 2007 to present information, answer questions, and get feedback concerning the transit system development plan. Click on the links below to view the PowerPoint presentation given at these meetings, PDF copies of the display boards shown at the meetings, and a record of the public comments received.
A second set of public informational meetings is currently being scheduled and will occur in Fall 2008 to solicit public comment on the proposed transit service improvement alternatives. Information on the alternatives under consideration can be found here.
Please let us know what you think about the key findings to date of the Milwaukee County Transit System Development Plan, and make suggestions that will be considered during the development of alternatives and recommended improvements. Give us your feedback or send us your written comments by email, phone fax, or electronically via email or filling out the form on this web page. You can also ask to be put on our mailing list so you get notification of future public meetings.
