Transportation
Group-Quartered residents are those persons living in facilities which are owned or managed by an entity or organization providing housing and/or services for the residents, such as, nursing homes, dormitories, shelters, and Huber law jail facilities. While representing less than one percent of total travel within southeastern Wisconsin, to capture their unique travel habits and patterns, a survey of travel by group-quartered residents will be conducted in the spring and fall of 2012. Individual trip details will be sought from individuals residing in such facilities. This will involve listing the location, purpose, and mode of travel for each trip made during a specified travel survey day.
A sample of the Region’s group-quartered facilities will be drawn from a list of such facilities in the Region. A sample of the residents of the selected facilities will be requested to participate in the survey.
The travel survey information provided to SEWRPC will be kept completely confidential and will be used for statistical purposes only. By participating in and completing the requested travel survey, residents within the Region will be performing a valuable public service through assisting in the planning of the Region’s future transportation system. The cooperation of the public in the conduct of the survey will be greatly appreciated.
