Transportation
At the request of the City of Waukesha, SEWRPC is preparing a short-range, 5-year transit operations analysis and service change plan for Waukesha Metro Transit. The plan will cover the period 2011-2015 and is based on a review of the existing transit system, and analyses of the travel habits, patterns and needs of system users based on on-bus surveys and passenger counts. The plan, to be completed in 2010, will propose a set of recommended service changes for the transit system and identify the forecast ridership, service levels, and operating and capital expenses that would be expected from implementing the changes.
The preparation of this transit development plan is a joint effort between Waukesha Metro Transit and SEWRPC staff. The City of Waukesha Transit Commission and the Mayor’s office will provide guidance to the technical staffs in the preparation of this plan.
In general, the study staff will prepare report chapters for review by the Transit Commission. Transit Commission meetings are open to the public. Meeting materials that have been provided to the Transit Commission for review will be posted here.
