Public Participation in the Transportation Planning Process

As the regional planning agency and MPO for the southeastern Wisconsin region, SEWRPC has the responsibility to undertake continuing public participation and outreach efforts. There are specific Federal requirements pertaining to public participation associated with transportation planning and programming. SEWRPC is currently soliciting public comment through March 4, 2012 on a proposed public participation plan which outlines how SEWRPC proposes to achieve public participation in its regional planning.   Comment is also being solicited on the proposed revisions to the public participation plan for transportation planning conducted by SEWRPC, which will now serve as an appendix to the more general public participation plan.  In addition, public comment is being solicited on a draft of SEWRPC's regional transprtation consultation process which documents how SEWRPC would coordinate its transportation planning and programming efforts with agencies and officials within Southeastern Wisconsin responsible for other planning activities affected by transportation.  Select the following link to view drafts of the above described documents, along with a brochure summarizing the SEWRPC public participation process, and for information on how to comment on the draft documents.
