Brownfields

SEWRPC continues to serve as a partner with the West Central Wisconsin and Northwest Wisconsin Regional Planning Commissions and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) in the Wisconsin Brownfields Coalition which has obtained, and continues to seek, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency grant funds for brownfields assessment. Over the past six years, the Coalition has been successful in obtaining $9 million in grant funding. The current emphasis of the Coalition is on applying funds to the assessment of the sites of closed or closing industrial plants.
